![]() ![]() Watercolorists can apply a high number of translucent and diluted layers to very thick or even semi-dry layers for a much heavier pigment load, and the same can be accomplished with Inktense. > Figure 4: Chesapeake Blue Crab (Callinectes sapidus), original on (9x12) mixed media paper in mixed media (20% watercolor and watercolor pencils) When colored pencils are applied to paper, the artist always works in careful mini-circles, or strokes with a very sharp point, understanding that the lines they make on the paper will remain exactly as they were applied, and despite the fact that solvent or blender pencil may be applied afterward, the lines remain in the exact areas. While they have some similarities to India ink, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, watercolor tube paints, and watercolor half-pans, mainly they are very much their own, unique medium. These pencils are very heavily pigmented and can be used for a plethora of applications and techniques. They all worked very nicely however I truly enjoyed working with these pencils on the L’Aquarelle Heritage by Canson hot press, 140-pound watercolor paper. I tried the tins of 12 and 36 pencils on various types of paper including Fabriano® Artistico hot press watercolor paper, Fabriano Artistico cold press watercolor paper, Arches® hot press watercolor paper, Arches cold press watercolor paper, Canson® Mixed Media paper, Strathmore® mixed media paper, Strathmore Bristol Board, and several sketchbooks. The wood casing appears to be good quality. I found that the standard KUM sharpener or the Ellipse by KUM was great for sharpening these pencils, and they also sharpen very smoothly. Derwent also sells Inktense blocks that can be used in conjunction with the pencils or independently. The Inktense brand slogan is “Pencil to Ink in Just One Wash.” The pencils come in a blister of 6, tin of 12, wooden box of 18, tin of 24, tin of 36, wooden box of 48, tin of 72, and wooden box of 72. Inktense pencils have a similar design to many of Derwent’s colored pencil products such as the pencil width, wood casing, color labeling, and pencil tip coloration. While they are initially water-soluble, they are ink and do not reactivate with water once they are dry, making them permanent. They are not to be confused with watercolor pencils for two reasons. Inktense (a portmanteau of the words “ink” and “intense”) is basically ink in the form of pencils. > Figure 1: Swallowtail on Gerber, original on (9x12) mixed media paper in Inktense pencils. ![]() ![]() ConclusionĮven though the movie does not offer the whole palette of music genres, it is still worth mentioning that the choice of music is fantastic. With pop songs making a huge chunk of the movie, it is rather hard to plunge into the atmosphere that art-rock, filmi, and trip-hop creates. However, it would probably be a good idea for Brioni to focus on psychedelic rock or soft rock a bit more. The soundtracks of the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind seem like a complex structure once a single element is taken away or replaced, the whole construction falls flat. It truly is hard to judge Brioni’s choice of music, especially in the light of the fact that the movie has received a rather positive critical reception. What Else Could Have Worked: Other Possible Music Genres It is exciting that, alone, these melodies can convey two messages at best however, when pulled together in a movie, they create a breathtaking sequence. The disquieting, seemingly out-of-tune sounds of the violin create immediately the atmosphere of anxiety and anguish, which also works for the plot, as this is the soundtrack for Joel Barnish to lose his memory too. Blue Sky”, an art-rock song, conveys to the viewers easily that the leading characters are having fun besides, the easy-going, could-not-care-less atmosphere of the melody makes it clear that the lead characters are a happy and somewhat extraordinary – the artistic type of extraordinary – couple. ![]() In a nonchalant, almost elegant manner, “Mr. To help the audience understand that they are watching not merely a romantic comedy, but a romantic film with the elements of science fiction, psychedelic pop winds up (“Light&Day”). There have been a few 11-man ballot matches and tournaments, but not very many. There are some limitations and additional rules, but we're sure you get the idea.ġ1-man ballot hasn't been very widely played. ![]() That form of play is called "11-man ballot." In this game, a ballot is chosen which eliminates at random one man from each side (hence the 11-man idea) and then chooses the opening move for each side, just as in 2-move restriction. Banks, which provides literally thousands of possible opening combinations, far too many to easily analyze, and certainly too many to memorize. There is another form of play, invented many years ago by champion Newell W. 3-move restriction, which is today the common mode of play at major tournaments, does somewhat better, but it too has been analyzed a great deal. Of course, the reason that 3-move restriction arose is that 2-move restriction play was highly analyzed and drawishness crept into even this form of the game. The idea is to force the game into different lines of play and avoid drawish repetition. In these forms of the game, the first two or three moves are chosen at random, by "ballot," and a pair of games is played from the chosen ballot, each player trying his luck at each side of the opening.
